AIDS IMPACT Conference Santé publique, Sciences Sociales

On behalf of the AIDSImpact International Board and INSERM Research Unit and the Federative Research Institute SHESS-AM, our local partners, we would like to announce that the Abstract submission deadline has now been extended to 3rd February.

The conference will be taking place from 1st to 4th July 2007 in Marseille France. The purpose of this update is to keep you informed on the latest deadlines for registration and abstract submission, more information can be seen in the following, or by visiting here

AIDS Impact Conference is the most important international event specifically devoted to Human and Social Sciences in the field of the HIV epidemic. The last conference, which was held in 2005 in Cape Town, South Africa, had gathered more than 700 participants from all over the world. It was also an unique opportunity to give more space to research in social sciences dealing with the HIV epidemic in developing countries.The first AIDS Impact conference goes back to the year 1991 when it was organised in Amsterdam, Netherlands. Ever since, AIDS Impact has taken place every other year.

Abstract Submission :

Abstract Deadline : 3rd February 2007

Late Breaker : 1 April 2007

General : Abstracts are to be submitted in English only. They must not have been published or presented previously. A rule of two first authored abstracts per delegate operates (delegates can be co-authors on multiple abstracts). Abstracts should be no longer than 300 words.

Option 1 : Abstracts based on Formal Research Work :

Study Objectives (hypothesis or a description of the problem) ; Method ; Results (specific results in a summarised form with appropriate statistical analysis) ; Discussion (brief comments and conclusions and implications).

Option 2 : Abstracts describing work other than Formal Research :

Issues : (A short statement of the issue or issues that the abstract addresses) ; Project (a brief description of the project, experience, service or research and its results and findings) ; Lessons learned (a summary of the lessons learned and their implications.

Registration
-  Early bird Registration : £140 Registration before 1st Dec 2006
-  Standard Registration : £280 Registration before 1st May 2007
-  Full Registration : £420 Registration from 1st May 2007
-  Student Registration : £105 Full time student evidence must be supplied at registration
-  Accompanying Person : £40 Entrance to Exhibition, Opening & Closing ceremonies only. Only one Accompanying Person is allowed per registered delegate
